It is now April which means that Earth Day is coming up! This year Earth Day is on Wednesday, April 22, 2009. It is a great time to celebrate our environment and look forward to the changes we can help make in the following year by taking action on our own or getting involved in our communities. Make a goal for Earth Day 2009! Will you make changes to save water and energy? Will you start a carpool system at your place of work? Will you plant a tree or start a garden? Now is the time to start thinking of your green resolution! We make resolutions for ourselves every New Year, and now it is time to make a resolution for the environment every Earth Day.
What is even better is that some companies have Earth Day sales on their eco-friendly products that last the entire month of April! Start being greener now. Check out Amazon.com for Earth Day Savings throughout the entire month.

At EcoYourself.com we have decided to go one step further in making green living more affordable and attainable! We have inserted what we call “Shopping Made Easy Links” throughout our posts for you to research the products further and even purchase the products on-line. You will notice that we most often link to department store sites such as HomeDepot.com, Amazon.com, or Lowes.com. We do this for one reason: to improve your chances of buying in bulk so that you can reduce your carbon footprint and help save on packaging! There are two great things about these stores (especially when it comes to Amazon.com): they offer almost every product and brand you will ever need, and they all have green departments.
We hope that you find this feature of our site convenient and helpful to your green lifestyle! Soon we hope to also add a green store with all of our favorite eco-friendly products! We will announce when this feature is released.
Shop in bulk, shop on-line, shop green!

A Green Village is being proposed in Ithaca, NY for building as early as next year. Villagers will be able to live, shop, and work from home in one of the 400 houses that will make up the zero carbon footprint community. Wind and solar energy will be used along with recycled water for land use.
Walking trails and electric cars (included with the price of each home) will eliminate automobile carbon emissions. However, each home comes with a lofty price of about $300 per square foot, meaning a 1700 square foot home would cost $510,000.
How much would you pay to create a zero carbon footprint?
